Tailgating Utility Vehicles Made for Tailgaters

09/07

The tailgating industry is growing at an incredible rate and car manufacturers have taken notice. Why should you have to accomodate for what your vehicle lacks in tailgating convenience, when you could buy a vehicle custom made with you in mind.

The 2007 Honda Odyssey is similar to most minivans and SUVS due to its extra storage space. However the magic seat in this minivan is perfect for any tailgater, who could always use some extra space. This special seat has one of the largest storage wells of its kind so you’ll be able to fit even more tailgating tools onboard to the next game. Unlike most cars that only have 12-volt cigarette lighters, the 2007 Volkswagen Touareg has household power outlets that can connect to two-pronged plugs. Which means, now you don’t have to tug along a power inverter or generator to start up your portable TV. This vehicle also has a 115-volt household outlet in the cargo area and four other 12-volt plugs. The only down side to all the extra outlets is that you will need to bring along a jumper cable since your vehicle’s battery will be on overload.

Don’t be afraid to attack that colossal burger or juicy hot dog inside the 2007 Honda Element. With stain-resistant upholstery, you won’t have to sress over accidental messes. So relax, that ketchup stain won’t ruin your upholstery.

In the 2007 Dodge Nitro, Load’ N Go storage floor, means you can slide the floor 18 inches backward for a handy shelf that will save you time. The shelf can also hold up to 400 lbs. which makes a perfect spot for a buffet.

The rear-flipping tailgate seat in the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country will keep its occupant comfortable and you from packing another lawn chair. Swivel ‘N Go seats help to provide shelter during bad weather with a removable table installed between the seats allowing up to five tailgaters to dine inside.

The stereo controls in the back of the 2007 GMC Acadia gives you the freedom to select tunes without having to keep running around to the driver’s seat. The selection buttons are located inches from where you can set up your food and drinks making this vehicle ultra tailgater friendly.

The MusicGate system inside the 2007 Dodge Caliber includes two speakers that can swing out from the lift gate. This way, no matter where you park, everyone in the crowd can hear the game or music.

Not only does the 2007 Honda Ridgeline come with a built-in cooler but includes a weatherproof lid, drain plug and water-resistant floor. With a lockable lid and equivalent to two-thirds the size of a compact car’s trunk, any tailgater will be pleased with the amount of food and beverage storage.

The 2007 Jeep Compass makes cleaning easy with a washable cargo floor. The Ultra Floor is noteworthy due to it’s non-skid vinyl service which can support up to 250 pounds, meaning you won’t have to worry about accidents while packing up all your tailgating tools at the end of the day. Once home, all you have to do is wipe it down and the mess is gone.

While quite impressive, these features are only the beginning in automotive design targeted for tailgating audiences.

Surely other car manufacturers will latch onto the tidal wave of the booming tailgating industry and intice us with even more impressive tailgating-friendly vehicles.
